For a long while in the Modeling Industry, Models have been paying out of pocket for modeling gigs, while waiting 90 days to get paid for that gig by the Modeling Agency, called a Net-90.

It takes 30 days for the Modeling Agency to get paid by the client for the Modeling gig that the model had done, called a Net-30. Those were the traditional ways before technology had advanced 20 years in the future, where most transactions between business partners, clients, and customers go through a credit-card system for purchases.

Models & Supermodels have been paying out of pocket for traveling, accommodation, food, portfolios, and even Galas to be show-cased for decades. The unfortunate part is when models don't make enough to pay for the trips for model calling as in example, and can't afford to attend that trip. Not often, but sometimes if a model is in much need the agency is expected to pay out of pocket for the model representation. In retrospect the only one not paying major expenses is the client, all they pay for is the model time and shoots, which is not particularly favorited as a good option, because if a model calling wants a specific model for the calling, and the model can't afford it, and the agency cant afford to cover the model costs at that time, it will more than disappoint the client expectations from that modeling agency.
